TRANSITIONING DOD TECH INTO FIRST RESPONSE
The Defense to Response Technology Program (D2R) is searching for Department of Defense (DoD) funded technologies to enhance public safety and homeland security. D2R is the Domestic Preparedness Support Initiative’s (DPSI) Technology Transition Program that will identify three technologies, annually, and provide $110,000 worth of services from Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service’s Product Development Center (TEEX PDC).
Project Diligence is a cutting-edge immersive training system that uses virtual reality head mounted displays (HMDs) in a wide range of spaces equipped with a high-precision PhaseSpace motion tracking system.
The PTF No-Contact™ Series Shield Covers by Protect The Force is an electronically enhanced shield cover for the standard ballistic / riot shield. At the push of a button, it allows the shield to set off an electrical charge of up to 50kV.
DEFENSE TO RESPONSE TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE
Each year semi-finalist companies are invited to attend the D2R Technology Showcase. All finalists toured Brayton Fire Training Field, Disaster City®, TEEX Emergency Operations Training Center, RELLIS Campus Home to TEEX Law’s firing range, UXO Grids, Demolition Demonstration, and TEEX Critical Infrastructure Training Facilities. These finalist provided a presentation with technology demonstration to a panel of selected chiefs, investors and business leaders.
